Order Managment of Bakery
My bakery is a bakery store located at New Baneshwor; cakes, cookies, pastries, rolls, breads are the major products sold in the bakery. Customers make phone calls to the bakery and place order for cakes, order has to be placed before 7 hours and before 10 am. Several customers order cakes of different flavors. The orders for the cake were written down in a file. This bakery makes cakes, breads, cookies, pastries, rolls in specified quantity each day; leftover products like cake, breads, rolls were stored in the freezer and sold next day. With time the popularity of the bakery grew and orders for cakes from several places increased; it became difficult for the manager, Mr. Sameer, to keep track of the cake orders. Sometime he is not able to provide ordered cake in time, sometime flavor of cake mismatched. The number of orders was very big, keeping track of the order in the written file was becoming very complicated.
He discussed about this problem with his friend Sangeeta. Sangeeta asked him to install database system to keep track of the orders. Then Sameer visited a software company and put his problem; based on the provided problem, the software company developed a database system in which information about the orders can be stored, status of the orders can be viewed, information about any order can be viewed anytime. That software was deployed in the bakery and Sameer was trained to use that software. As the order from customer came, Sameer immediately inserted the order information into the software. After the order was inserted a list of ordered in the chronological order was displayed in the right side of the monitor. With the view of the list Sameer was able to know the number of orders, status of order, and number of ordered to be met. Afterwards his problem of order mismatch was totally removed and was able to serve his customers with greater confidence.
